Task Tracker

This project is a custom web application built completely from scratch. It was designed to replace a messy, manual tracking setup using Excel files that was causing communication delays and confusing workflows across different departments.

The new system moves everything into an organized online dashboard, making it easy to track individual tasks and see how the whole organization is performing in real time.

The Big Switch

Before this app was built, the client managed all of their daily tasks manually inside Excel spreadsheets.

This caused major headaches that the new application completely fixes:

  1. Spreadsheet rows were static. It was impossible to cleanly connect main tasks with smaller subtasks.

I built a dynamic digital log from scratch. Now, team members can clearly connect parent tasks to smaller sub-tasks across departments like HR, IT, and Marketing.

  2. No built in approval system. Anyone could accidentally overwrite a row, and nobody knew who was responsible for final sign offs.

I added a secure Head of Department (HOD) review workflow. Now, team members submit finished work, and managers can officially approve it, mark it complete, or reopen it.

  3. Zero visibility. Managers had to scroll through hundreds of spreadsheet rows just to figure out which projects were running late.

Well, I engineered a real time analytics dashboard that automatically sorts active work into visual risk buckets, making it obvious which tasks are overdue.
